J.B.H.U.N.T. just be happy ur not trucking

ok, im having an awful day. really awful. now there are things im forced to accept as a o.t.r. truck driver. stupid log rules, traffic, idiot drivers, idiot customers... fine, i accept it. what i cant deal with is other truck drivers who make my life harder than it has to be. For example there is a stretch of highway that i travel on a regular basis, its a 2 lane rd, undidivided, 55 mph speed limit. every time i get on this hwy i set my cruise on 57 mph. its a curvy rd with lots of intersections that dont have lights, and i just wont go any faster than this. and every time, without fail, i have another truck tailgating me with no more than one second following distance. the proper minimum following distance at this speed for a truck is 7 seconds. now if someone pulls out in front of me or i dont see an obstacle on the other side of a curve and have to floor the brakes, odds are really good that im going to have a tractor IN my trailer. Its just not neccesary, ive gotten to the point where i will slow down to 45 when this happens if i have the time, im just sick of it.
Anyways, on to today, well actually lets start with yesterday evening. i get to a truck stop in hagerstown, md. I was gonna use my pilot points to get some free subway, was looking forward to it. i get out of the truck, and BAM! the entire parking lot reeked like a urinal that hadnt been flushed for 2 months. Its a common enough occurence at truck stops, but i never get used to it. Anyways, i go get my sandwich and come back to the truck, trying not to breath too much. Alas, when i actually started eating it, i couldnt get the urine smell out of my brain, so it tasted really off. lost my appetite, wasted 3/4ths of a sandwich. why, if you re going to get out of your truck to relieve yourself, cant you walk down to the restroom. and if your going to use a bottle cus you dont want to get out of the truck, screw the top back on, and throw it in the trash. why on earth would you dump it out your window? ive seen drivers dumping whole gallons of liquid out their window on many occasions, obviously not water...
Anyways, its become obvious to me that many truck drivers became o.t.r. drivers cus they are such disgusting slobs with absolutely no ability to show consideration for other people, that their family would kill them if they were home more than a few days at a time.
SO i had to get up really early this morning, partly because of stupid log rules, partly because i decided to go around d.c. and i have to get through there by 6 am if im going to avoid a 1 hour traffic jam. i get to where i am going to fuel at 5:35 or so in the am. I figured, at this time of morning, there shouldnt be a line at the fuel island. i was wrong. Im in no hurry, but that still doesnt keep morons who waste my time from annoying the heck out of me. at this point, i decided to break out the cell phone to take pictures.
Ok so the obvious thing with this picture is that the truck in front of me, is in fact, blocking the fuel island to his left, not the first time ive seen idiots do this either. why he couldnt take 15 extra second to straighten it out is beyond me. what you cant see is, first there are 3 other trucks to my right waiting for the person in front of them to get out of the way so they can fuel. second is that, almost all truck stops are designed so that, when you get done fueling, you have plenty of room to pull forward so that you can go inside and buy stuff or whatever, while the person behind you fuels. the fed-ex driver and the person on the left are not in the trucks or fueling, they are in the building. they couldnt pull the truck forward to the space designed specifically for this purpose, before walking inside. i mean....really... this is why drivers often complain of waiting half an hour or more just to get to the pump. Didnt take me that long, but still, its just not neccesary that i waited even 1 second...

sorry for the sideways picture but i couldnt figure out how to rotate it. O.k. so i was ahead of schedule, and knew i wasnt going to get unloaded early at this customer, so i park, noticing this, and go inside to get a snack and a monster and all that. as i walk back to the truck i take this picture. Aside from the fact that i was taught from day one not to pull into a place you have to blindly back out of. (ive done it too, and he had tons of space to back out into). he is not only crossing the yellow line on my side, but on the other side too..... once again, why he couldnt take 15 seconds to straighten it out, i have no idea.... had i not been paying attention, or had i been a rookie, his mirror would have been gone.

See all that space in front of those trucks. notice how not a single truck is occupying that space. i watched as at least 3 of those drivers walked their from their trucks to the truck stop after fueling. So now, when someone wants to come in and fuel, they have to sit and wait for these lazy *******s to get back from doing whatever they are doing inside. This truck stop, ive been there many times, always has a 20 minute wait or more just to get to the fuel island during the day. there is no reason why other than the fact truck drivers are idiots.... oh and notice that red truck at the end? he is not even at a fuel pump...

The fuel island ends, with just enough room that you can get a tractor with a 53 foot trl in and out of the parking spots. this tard decided he would go ahead and block 8 or so trucks from leaving, if they needed too. considering the fact the sun had come up, i figure it was pretty likely that at least one of those guys he blocked would be ready to go. now if he had only been there like 5 minutes or whatever, than big deal. He was there for almost 45 minutes when i finally left. glad he didnt block me, i was already in a near psychotic state from witnessing so much idiocy in such a short period of time, i may have done something i would later regret, like talk to him about it, and catch his stupid gene. So as i am leaving, i look at the trucks he is blocking, sure enough, there is a young driver sitting there with a lit cig. and a look on his face that said it all. to be sure, when he glanced my waay i made a gesture back at the red truck, kinda like "can you believe this guy". looked like the stuck driver chuckled to himself, then lowered his his eyes and shook his head, muttering something that im sure wasnt nice.
I guess the moral of the story is, there is a reason i dont carry a gun, cus one day im likely to use it on one of these idiots.
